Ducati continues to tease motorcycle world with new model

Its a motorcycle released with a modern marketing edge, relieving the curious with only an unveiling date and countdown website.

Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati are promising to reveal their new and much-rumored model to the sea of press on November 9th at the EICMA 2009 International Motorcycle Show in Milan.

Dubbed the Multistrada 1200, according to Ducati, the revamped ride has been built to 'satisfy the demands of all motorcyclists'.

'Ducati have designed a motorcycle to tackle all kinds of journeys and road surfaces using technology derived from the Bologna made race bikes in MotoGP and World Superbike', the company reveals in a press release.

'From a sport bike for outright excitement to a tourer for long journeys with passenger and luggage, and from an everyday bike which can breeze through the daily commute to an agile enduro able to tackle off-road routes, the brand new Ducati is transforms itself to suit the rider’s demands,' the release continues.

Promising a completely new, but purely Ducati look and style, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer looks to the Multistrada 1200 to deliver sport bike power and excitement, being easy to ride and with a high priority on safety and comfort.

The move follows many motorcycle makers filling gaps in their model line-up with moderately priced bikes to attract the middle of the road rider. To that end, the new Multistrada is expected to be as much tourer as sportbike, allowing for passenger and luggage. Ducati also describes the new model as 'an everyday bike which can breeze through the daily commute to an agile enduro able to tackle off-road routes'.

While Ducati have designed a motorcycle to tackle all kinds of journeys and road surfaces, it was done riding in the wake of technology derived from the Bologna made race bikes in MotoGP and World Superbike, with the Mutlistrada 1200 billed as a motorcycle able to 'transforms itself to suit the rider’s demands'.

The heart of the Multistrada 1200 is derived from the World Championship-winning Superbike 1198 Testastretta engine, modified to provide unprecedented smoothness and tractability. Referred to as the Testastretta 11°(eleven degrees) , it represents a milestone in combining performance with usability.

Whether out of idle curiosity or with the intention of ownership, Ducati encourages the public to keep track of the new motorcycle model with their countdown website, currently featuring a video teaser.
