Ducati: Sex Pistols and motorcycle tours

Sex Pistol's Steve JonesIts not just the everyday motorcycle enthusiasts taking advantage of the cooler temperatures to head out onto the open road.

The famous Italian motorcycle manufacturer is sending out its fleet of demo trucks to allow curious and intrigued bikers the opportunity to test ride the latest Ducati models.

The Duc and Hyper Truck Test Ride fleets have begun their yearly tour of North America-traveling all summer to Ducati Dealerships and other Ducati events across the nation.

The Ducati line-up features many new additions to its 2009 models leaving the most seasoned Ducatista the chance to experience something new.

For those interested in taking advantage of the touring demo trucks, bear in mind Ducati North America requires the following riding gear minimums when test riding one of the Ducati demos: full face helmet, riding gloves, shoes that cover the ankle, long sleeve shirt and pants. Ducati North America encourages all test riders to wear a protective motorcycle jacket and motorcycle specific boots.

The two truck tour kicks off this weekend in Eximport, Texas with the Duc Truck while Atlanta BMW Ducati hosts the Hyper Truck.

The rest of the schedule looks like the following;

Duc Truck Schedule

Oct 10 Advanced Motorsports Ducati Dallas, Dallas, TX
Oct 17 Ducati Scottsdale, Scottsdale, AZ
Oct 22-25 Love Ride, Pomona, CA
Hyper Truck schedule

Ducati North America reported that avid motorcyclist, Sex Pistols guitarist, and host of LA radio's beloved "Jonesey’s Jukebox" Steve Jones, has taken delivery of a new customized Hypermotard S at Ducati headquarters.

Sex Pistols Steve Jones

Known for his genre defining music and straight talk, Jones recently expanded his bike collection to include the rambunctious Ducati Hypermotard S due to its aggressive styling and exceptional fun factor. Steve had been eying the model since first riding one at Ducati North America headquarters earlier this Spring. He bought the motorcycle to celebrate his return to the Los Angeles airwaves this fall.

Residing in a perfect motorcycle hot spot, Jones can be found carving his Hypermotard S along Southern California's coast and canyons.

"I've always admired Ducati from a distance but never found something that suits me. That all changed after that first ride on the Hypermotard. I knew I had to have her. All my mates are jealous- and that suits me just fine!"
