Harley-Davidson makes appearance at concert of teen sensation Miley Cyrus
Harley-Davidson has long marketed to women, wanting to encourage the fairer sex to have their own rides. But a recent appearance by the American icon at a concert by teen singer Miley Cyrus put the motorcycle company in front of a whole new demographic.
Whether intentional or not, Harley-Davidson was emblazoned across the tank of a softail-looking motorcycle lowered to the stage with teen sensation Miley Cyrus singing from the saddle.
The 16-year-old actress/singer appeared in 'biker gear' of a sleeveless jean jacket over a black t-shirt and shorts with a pair of riding boots.
The two wheeled prop was featured at a concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on Wednesday night.
Unintentional advertising for the Milwaukee motorcycle manufacturer is nothing new. On the other end of the Miley Cyrus scale, sexy bombshell Pamela Anderson made motorcycle headlines when she used a Harley-Davidson as a prop in a rare appearance at a gentlemen's club in Paris.
The Valentine Day show with limited tickets took place several years ago and restricted photography by the few lucky customers, so no pictures were made available from the special event.
Harley-Davidson has a strong presence among the female riders. The company celebrated its second large women's MDA ride at Daytona Bike Week earlier this year.
On the company's website, Harley-Davidson hosts a page for women riders collecting and publishing rider's stories on why they ride, how they learned as well as a calendar of special events.
The entertainment world was buzzing over Harley's appearance at the Miley Cyrus concert with a series of pictures featured on the celebrity gossip website Just Jared.
