Recall notice issued for Ducati's F1098S Streetfighter
While an increased number of stalls may had many Ducati riders questioning their motorcycle skills, they could be down to a recently purchased bike according to a newly issued recall notice.
Ducati is recalling its 2010 F1098S Streetfighter model for a problem that could cause the bike to stall.
The culprit? A small grounding screw.
According to the recall the Electronic Control Unit Ground screw may have been improperly tightened during production, resulting in the possible stalling issue.
An interesting fault considering the Streetfighter is one of the Ducati models that can be equipped with the Ducati Data Analyzer (DDA).
Complete with PC software, a USB-ready data retrieval card and instructions the DDA provides a graphic presentation of data from various channels of information allowing riders to analyze their skills and performance.
The new class-leading Streetfighter has claimed victory with three distinguished awards; cementing its position as 2009's best motorcycle. The Streetfighter took honors in Robb Report's "Best of the Best", Motorcyclist's "Motorcycle of the Year" awards and Cycle World's "Ten Best."
As part of the recall notice, Ducati dealers will retighten the ground screw free of charge when the recall action is expected to take place in October 2009.
