Women and motorcycles featured on CBS morning show
Motorcycles and the riding culture was seen as it rarely is with a mere minute of exposure on Sunday’s edition of CBS News’ Sunday Morning bringing a major increase of attention to women bikers.
Spotlighted last Sunday on the popular national newsmagazine program in a segment titled “Spokes Women,” CBS News correspondent Rita Braver highlighted Daytona Beach-based ROAR Motorcycles for Women, noting “a lot of riders are taking to a new generation of bikes geared specifically to women.”
Once the segment aired, the motorcycle company saw a 1,000% increase in website visits and a jump in the number of phone calls to the two year-old dealership.
“The awareness of who we are and what we do continues to grow day after day,” said Kathy Tolleson, ROAR Founder and President who was interviewed by Braver. “And as that awareness and interest continues to grow, we will continue to do what we do best – design bikes exclusively by women, for women.”
Tolleson was also recently featured on the Martha Stewart Show as a “Dreamers Into Doers” honoree. The honor spotlights individuals who turn their dreams into reality.
