Dierk Bentley expands motorcycle charity rides
Country superstar Dierks Bentley and his charity rides have quickly become a celebrated event on the motorcycle calendar.
Now the singer is expanding the two annual rides with events around the country. Next up, the Miles & Music for Kids benefit series rides into Fort Worth, Texas on April 25.
The event will feature a celebrity motorcycle ride and a concert at Billy Bob's Texas nightclub with five of his favorite Texas artists to be announced at a later date. Proceeds from the event will benefit both the Children's Medical Center of Dallas and the Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Last year, Bentley joined forces with Nationwide Insurance, CMT One Country and the Children's Miracle Network to expand the Miles & Music for Kids event to six cities in 2009 and 2010, with all proceeds benefiting Children's Miracle Network hospitals in those areas. Since 2006, Miles & Music for Kids has raised more than $1 million.
In addition to Bentley, the concert will feature a handful of surprise Texas music heavyweights.
"I'm going to try and keep all my special guests a secret for as long as I can," Bentley said in a statement. "I'll just say that they are five of my favorite Texas country artists, and you better get there early because if you don't, they will drink all the beer."
