Winning racing team sets landspeed records on an electric motorcycle
News 3 Sep 2010 | 7:03 amA team from the electric motorcycle racing circuit of TTXGP took their winning ways to the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats to set a new land speed record yesterday.
We would like to say the previous holders of the record were upset to lose it, but in fact that honor was owned by the same team that broke it on Thursday, who had set it only days earlier.
The most amazing fact to come from the new record set by Lightning Motorcycles was the preparation needed for the electric machine that reached speeds of 176 mph. Using a dynamometer to tune its General Motors EV1 electric car engine, the team reportedly made some gearing changes to allow for the higher speeds.
Other than the slight tweaks, the record-breaking electric motorcycle was the same winning bike which rode over the finish line at the inaugural TTXGP North American Championship two weeks ago.

Motorcycle show brings hot bikes and young stuntmaster to Minneapolis
Riders can come away from motorcycle shows with ideas and inspirations. But under the label of 'do not try this at this at home' comes the appearance of professional stunt rider and Minnesota-native, Aaron Colton at the Simply Sport Bikes Display at the Minneapolis Cycle World International Motorcycle Show.
Colton will be at the show throughout the weekend which kicks off on Friday February 5th at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Aaron Colton is a world renowned stunt rider from Shakopee, Minnesota. At 18 years of age Aaron is one of the top riders in the sport and has performed throughout the world in competitions and demonstrations. Often labeled a "child prodigy," Aaron has compiled a list of wins that many in the sport dream about, including: XLD National, XSBA Freestyle, Stunt Wars, and Starboyz Competition.
Attendees to the Minneapolis Cycle World International Motorcycle Show will have the opportunity to meet and talk with this world renown stunt rider, get his autograph, take pictures and see his one-of-a-kind stunt bike up-close with his patented "Stoppie" motorcycle stand.

It could be a snowy weekend as the the 12-city nationwide motorcycle extravaganza, Cycle World International Motorcycle Show sets up for three days of its all access pass to the world of motorcycling. Featuring hundreds of the latest street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, vintage bikes, custom competitions and displays, as well as demo rides at certain shows, Minneapolis is one of the final three stops for the motorcycle show this tour.
Appearing at the Simply Sport Bikes booth, Aaron (pictured right) is widely considered as helping bring stunt riding into the mainstream, constantly working to further grow the sport and bring it to new heights.
